GOLSINGS BLACK SEAL RUM BLACK SEAL ON RUM BARRELS draft tap handle. BERMUDA
GOLSING’S BLACK SEAL RUM BLACK SEAL ON RUM BARRELS draft tap handle. Spiced rum distilled in Bermuda since 1806. It wasn’t until around 1860 that they started formulating a process to make Black Seal Rum. Originally called “Old Rum” due to its smoothness from being aged in oak barrels. After the War the started bottling it using reclaimed champagne bottles and sealing them with a cork and black wax. That’s when they started calling it Black Seal. Teaming up with the Royal Navy’s Officers Club’s Ginger beer in the 1920’s and using a North Atlantic Black Seal juggling an oak barrel as their mascot and label. They added a splash of black Rum and created Dark & Stormy, now trade marked and canned since the 1980’s. Excellent condition as seen. A black Seal sits on a black block like a floating piece of ice. Outlined with gold and the brands name on all sides. Three fat oak barrels of RUM with steel straps are stacked up beneath the Black Seal. Each barrel has been branded with a burnt RUM stamp on either side. Whether you collect taps, like seals or drink fine rum. It’s a really nice collectible piece. Heavy and well crafted. (black seals range in color from dark gray to pitch black). Tap handle has been turned and rotated so all sides are pictured.
