ANHEUSER BUSCH BLACK BEAR AND TAN LION SPECIALTY draft beer tap handle. USA
ANHEUSER BUSCH BLACK AND TAN BEAR AND LION SPECIALTY draft beer tap handle. Black and Tan was first brewed back in 1899 as a porter by Adolphus Busch. Now re-released in 1995 as part of the Anheuser Busch American Originals series. A dark porter blended with a traditional lager. Pours a dark reddish brown with notes of roasted coffee and chocolate. Tap is now almost 30 years old. It has been part of a large Anheuser Busch Budweiser collection for many years now. It remains in excellent condition and shows almost no wear at at all. A virtual brawl between the black bear and the tan lion representing the bear as it is mixed together. Fighting on a pile of rocks. The lions side label reads in a light tan/gold while the bears side has black lettering. Great to look at from any angle. The winner here is the beer. The animals finished in a stand off. Others in the series were Faust, Muenchener and American Hop Lager. A few others did not make the cut. Brewed from original hand-written recipes. Tap handle has been turned and rotated so all sides are pictured. I try to take great photos and write accurate descriptions so you can judge for yourself.
