MORLAND BREWING OLD SPECKLED HEN draft beer tap handle. ENGLAND
MORLAND BREWING OLD SPECKLED HEN draft beer tap handle. Dating back to the early 1700’s. Purchasing Abbey and Eagle breweries in the 1800’s and changing their name to United Brewing. Changing back to Morland Brewing in 1944. Acquired by Greene King in 2000. Old Speckled Hen was released in 1979 to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the MG car factory in England. They had a workshop truck that was originally an experimental car nick-named “Owd’ Speck’ld Un” (Old Speckled Hen). Cuz of the splattered paint covering the entire car and gold spotted cellulous fabric. The factory closed a year later and the beers sales declined slowly. It was revived again in 1990 on draught. Rebranded later in 2008 to target a younger audience. Still in excellent condition but it must have been dropped somewhere along the way and it has a small blemish as seen. Rest of tap is very clean and looks amazing. Deep maroon with gold graphics so fine they show your reflection. Sly English fox happily drinking an Old Speckled Hen perched on top. Just as if he caught a fresh one in the farmhouse. He is very well dressed, I might add. Very heavy and well crafted. You don’t see this one come up often. Weighs over 1-1/4 pounds. Stands 13-1/2 inches tall. Tap has been turned and rotated so that all sides are shown. Please look carefully at all the photos. I try to take the best pictures from many angles so you can judge for yourself. This is the actual item you will receive. Stand not included in sale.
